2006/05 FC Stars Regional League Blue Win ECNL RL Playoffs - East Championship
Our 2005/05 Regional League Blue team captured the ECNL Regional League East Championship this weekend at the ECNL Regional League Playoffs - East.
FC Stars had six girls teams competing at the ECNL Regional League - East playoffs, tied for the second most among all teams at the event. All teams played a minimum of three games held in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The 06/05's, who earlier this spring won the ECNL New England Regional League Championship, won three games in three days to end their season with the U19 regional title. It capped a memorable end to the careers of the teams' graduating seniors, many of whom will be playing college soccer next fall.
Our U13-U16 teams played three group stage matches, with the group winner advancing to a one game final. The winner of each final advanced to the ECNL Regional League National Championships next month in Virginia.
Our 2011 RL Blue, 2008 RL Blue and 2008 RL White teams topped their group and advanced to the playoff final, tied for the most finalists among all attending clubs. All teams unfortunately suffered narrow defeats in tight contests held Sunday morning.
Our '08 RL White side suffered a narrow 1-0 loss while our two RL Blue finalists were defeated in penalty shootouts.
