ECNL Phoenix Recap
Our trip out West has reached full time with 4 of our 10 ECNL Girls teams finished the weekend undefeated at ECNL Phoenix.
All of our U13-U17 ECNL Blue and White teams competed in the desert at the highest attended ECNL showcase of the Spring season in front of over 300 college scouts. Our ‘07 ECNL Blue team continued their strong form from the ECNL New England Conference with three wins from three while our ‘07, ‘08, and ‘10 ECNL White teams concluded the trip without a loss.
Day One of ECNL Phoenix showed the strength the club has on a national stage. Our ECNL White teams combined for an undefeated record to open up the showcase, while the nightcap saw two of our ECNL Blue players compete in the Continental Tire ECNL National Selection Game. Emmy O’Donnell, a forward from our ‘08 ECNL Blue team, and Hope McMillin, a midfielder for our ‘07 ECNL Blue team, suited up for Team East in an exciting 1-1 draw.
O’Donnell was named Co-Player of the Match, saying after the game “It was a really great experience. I got to play at a really high level. It was just really cool to have my friends out here supporting me on this stage.”
The journey to Arizona allowed our girls players to match up against talented opposition from around the country and be exposed to different styles of play. FC Stars competed against 21 different clubs this weekend, including 7 who were named to the ECNL Girls Top 25 list from the 2022/23 season.

The trip to the desert starts the busiest stretch of the year for our ECNL Girls players. Our U15-U19 Blue & White teams have 10 scheduled games over the next 6 weekends, including 3 straight home weekends in Lancaster beginning on Saturday. They’ll all look to stack points on the board as the chase for places at the ECNL National Playoffs intensifies.
As for the club’s presence at ECNL Showcase events, we’ll have two more opportunities to shine on the national level during the regular season. Our U15-U17 ECNL Boys will spend Memorial Day weekend at ECNL North Carolina, while our U16 & U17 ECNL Blue & White Girls teams are off to Richmond for ECNL Virginia one week later.
