FC Stars West Overview

Stars West Overview

FC Stars of Massachusetts – West, also known as Stars West, was launched in June 2010.

Stars West is based out of the Springfield Massachusetts area and is a satellite site of the “Stars” based in eastern Massachusetts.

For the 2012-2013 soccer year FC Stars West will host girls teams for U9-U18 players.

Stars and Stars West has been established with the goal of providing serious soccer players with everything they need to reach their potential. This is primarily done through consistent professional training and competitive matches.

2010/2011 Summary

During the 2010/2011 season there were three total teams. These teams competed in regionally recognized tournaments (NEWSS, Scorpion Bowl, PDA College Showcase etc). In addition to the tournament exposure, the “95s” competed in the Region 1 Premier League against some of the strongest teams in the region, including several ECNL clubs. The U16 and U18s competed in the New England Premiership (NEP). The 2010/2011 season concluded with 2 of the 3 Stars West girls teams (95s and 98s) making it all the way to the Massachusetts State Cup Semi Finals. This was better than any other club in Western Massachusetts.

2011/2012 Summary

In the 2011-12 soccer year Stars West grew to a total of 11 girls teams. These 11 teams offered the opportunity for girls of all age groups from U10-U18 to participate in our annual program. The teams compete in various premier leagues (MAPLE, NEP, Region 1, etc.) and tournaments (Stars Cup, Scorpion Bowl, FC Delco Player’s Cup, PDA College Showcase etc). We had three girls teams compete in the super competitive Region 1 Premier Leagues (NERP and R1PL) this year. This is better than any other club in Western Mass. Through this league the U13 girls qualified for the North East Regional League Championship Match. The U14 girls finished in the top four which guarantees their acceptance in the prestigious league again for the 2012-13 season. The U16 West United, U16 West Athletic, and U18 West United teams all qualified for the final eight of the Massachusetts State Cup which concludes in June prior to the US Youth Soccer Regional Championship in Pennsylvania. This has proven to be a very successful year for our young branch of the club and we look forward to the 2012-13 season and what it will bring!

In conjunction with our annual teams we have established an “Academy” Program that runs annually with a seasonal option for U6, U7, U8 and U9 players. The response to this program has been fantastic.

Looking Forward!

FC Stars West is a full service branch of the Stars soccer club for premier female youth soccer players of all ages (Academy – U18). Teams have been established from U9 through U18.

We have hired several highly qualified coaches and are continuing to grow.

In the spirit of providing a comprehensive home for premier female soccer players in Western Massachusetts, Stars West offers several training clinics year round for both current FC Stars players and for aspiring participants. These clinics include goal keeper training, strength and conditioning training, field player technical training, Academy training (for U5-U9s), and other periodically run programs. For a list of these programs and the dates in which they run please visit the “West Programs” section of the website.

FC Stars would like to thank all of those who have supported the growth of FC Stars West. We are looking forward to its continued growth and success in Western Massachusetts.
